How to solve the problem of excessive vibration and insufficient air volume of centrifugal fans?

Centrifugal fan is a ventilation equipment widely used in various large and medium-sized factories, civil buildings, large venues and other places. However, during operation, centrifugal fans may experience common faults such as excessive vibration, excessive noise, and insufficient air volume. Today, we will introduce how to troubleshoot and solve common faults.

Excessive vibration

Excessive vibration may be caused by the following reasons:

1. Impeller problem: The quality of the impeller is uneven and the manufacturing accuracy does not meet the standard. When rotating at high speed, it will generate unbalanced force due to the offset of the center of gravity, causing vibration. The impeller is worn, deformed, or has a large amount of dust and dirt adhering to its surface.

2. Bearing failure: problems such as bearing wear, poor lubrication, improper installation, or excessive clearance between the bearing and the shaft.

3. Foundation and installation issues: Unreasonable design of the fan foundation, unstable foundation or lack of leveling during installation, or misalignment of the fan and motor shafts, as well as excessive installation deviation of the coupling, can lead to excessive vibration of the fan during operation.

When solving the problem, it is necessary to first determine the cause of the vibration, check the foundation installation, impeller condition, and bearing condition of the fan one by one, and repair the fan according to the identified cause.

1. Impeller repair and balance adjustment: Remove dust and dirt from the surface of the impeller. For worn or deformed impellers, repair or replace them according to the degree of damage. The repaired impeller needs to undergo a dynamic balance test by adding or removing counterweights at appropriate positions on the impeller to achieve a balanced state.

2. Bearing maintenance and replacement: Check the lubrication condition of the bearings and promptly replenish or replace the lubricating oil. If the bearings are severely worn or damaged, they should be replaced with new bearings immediately. When installing bearings, ensure installation accuracy and ensure that the clearance between the bearing and the shaft meets the requirements.

3. Foundation and installation adjustment: Check whether the fan foundation is firm. If it is loose or damaged, it should be reinforced in a timely manner. Adjust the installation position of the fan again to ensure that it is installed horizontally and that the fan is concentric with the motor shaft. Accurately calibrate the coupling to reduce installation deviation.
